Kiwiana

See the earlier posts, heres some more - buzzy bees, 42 Below, L&P, Zespri, Fisher and Paykel and the middle finger

This week

Has been rather quiet. Mum and I visit Dad in the afternoons, I usually need a nappy change in the afternoon - its great timing seeing Mum and Dad change me in public.

When I am at home Great Grandpa (GG) comes around and plays with me for a while and then uses the telephone. He also eats a lot of pineapple lumps. At night, he comes around and drinks red wine to help his arteries. He is really funny and talks to me a lot. The other day I made him take off his glasses, his watch, and his belt in order for him to make me comfortable. Next time I will try and make him take off all his clothes too!!

Last night (Wednesday 26th) was the first time that I slept through the night - i didnt wake up until 6am. I dont know what that means but Mum and Dad were pretty happy.

Rugby

I watched the rugby on Saturday, haka was good, game was crap and I had one too.

Very religious

On Ba's last day in Singapore, we went to the temple. I was quite nervous because I didnt know how long we would be at the temple for - I wanted to get home by 3pm so I could watch the All Blacks play the Springboks.

Mum and Dad are not very religious, however they live within 5 minutes walk of a hindu temple; they also live within 5 minutes walk of a lot of girly bars. The temple was huge and colourful and there were not very many people inside when we went. Ba lay me on the ground which was hard and not very comfortable - its lucky that I have soft bones and lucky for her that I dont know how to hit people yet.

So now I have been to church and I have been to the temple. Religious tolerance is pretty cool.

Anyway we did make it back in time for the rugby and I really enjoyed being at the temple.

My Younger Days

I just found a couple more pictures - i think that I am about 1week to 2weeks old in these ones.

Dad is such a knob that he doesnt know how to put the time and date on the photos. Hope he figures it out soon - he could read the instructions for starters.

Here Hair... I am trying to say something

I have previously put a picture of my two grandmas on here. On Wednesday night, my great grandpa and step grandfather (Antonio, who is Portuguese) were here for dinner. They move their mouth a lot but I dont understand what they are saying - I am not sure whether they understand each other either.

They look like they have the same barber and I have only just realised that out of all the males in my family, I have the most hair.

However, Antonio is really good at looking after me - he carries me in this way that makes it easy to burp. Its like I am cradling his arm with my head near his elbow and my groin resting on his hand. Mum went to Portugal once and said that all Portuguese men always scratch their balls - I wonder if its because of how they were carried when they were young?

Great Grandpa is great at looking after me too.

close up

Zebra Zac

is this a letterland concept?

It looks like a blanket on me but its actually a sleep suit. Ba wanted to see me in it before she goes back to NZ. Made me really feel like a circus animal.

The first picture is at hospital before I am one day old - any excuse for a glass of wine!

The second picture is taken at (Great) Aunty Barbara's house - I have just arrived and am still in the car seat. I have already got everyones attention!

Sleeping

Growing up can be pretty tiring eh?

Grandmas

Grandmas are great arent they? always give you what you want, you can give them the runaround and they still adore you. My parents are different - they leave me to explore by myself. Despite my small fingers, i have both of my grandmas wrapped around my little finger.

Things I like doing

My Dad has this thing for dressing me in All Blacks gear - kind of makes me feel like a mascot. He likes it and so does Mum - I cant ever recall crying while wearing it - even when the AB's werent doing too well against the Irish. Heres a pic of me when we were leaving the hospital on 10 June.

I havent managed to sit through a whole game of rugby yet but have watched bits and pieces. I saw the haka before the first wallabies game and it was awesome.

Mum reads to me a lot. I like the pictures. Dad has showed me a copy of Inside Sport - I dont think that I am ready for this yet - maybe next week.

My first blog

Hi there

Hope you enjoy my blog - living is so much fun. Mum and Dad look after me so well and teach me lots of things. I never knew that I would have my own blog at five weeks of age.

Here is a picture of me when I was three days old. I am wearing one of my favourite pieces of clothing - I am not brand conscious at all, but as long as it has the All Blacks logo, I am pretty happy.

You can see I have gloves on - its not cold in Singapore, but I think that they are for boxing.

The next photo is with my Dad - I am sort of smiling - not many people smile when they are around him. This is only a fake one to make him happy.

I was born on 8 June at Mt Alvernia Hospital - and I was cute because all babies are regardless of what they look like. I cant remember getting my umbilical cord cut but i think it was ok. Being born was great fun (I think Mum has a different opinion on this) - mind you, i think its better than the nine months of torture i gave her.
